Job Duties — What You’ll Do Every Day

Court Aides support the operations of the Bronx County Clerk’s Office by handling a variety of physical, clerical, and logistical tasks:

Mail & document handling
  • Process and sort the daily incoming and outgoing mail
  • Distribute sorted mail to the appropriate offices and personnel
  • Transport court documents and files to other courthouse locations
  • File and organize case papers in their proper location
Physical & logistical support
  • Carry and deliver files, supplies, and other items throughout the courthouse
  • Rearrange office equipment, furniture, and furnishings as needed
  • Transport furniture, equipment, and bulk objects between offices, courtrooms, and judges’ chambers
  • Stock supplies and maintain inventory levels
Clerical & office support
  • Operate office machinery (copiers, scanners, postage equipment, etc.)
  • Perform data entry and general clerical tasks as assigned
  • Perform messenger duties within and between courthouse locations
